Keith Taylor Jr.

I work for AX Track not only for the love of the sport, but to share the love with athletes who look up to us. AX is a family that will go on forever. AX bonds all athletes and coaches with track and opens doors for more opportunities like school, jobs, or even just a family.

Coaching History: Started coaching at Mr. Pleasant in 2012-2018. Student Coach at LIncoln University 2015-2016. Started at A.I High School in Spring 2018
Favorite Memory: 2016 Indoor Nationals when our guys swept every age group in Triple Jump. They were National Champs. And two of the three athletes broke the national record.

Monique Taylor-Gibbs

Since my AX athlete son graduated and went off to college, I continued to volunteer with AX Track because I missed my family. The athletes and team atmosphere bring me joy. I am teacher by trade and am thrilled to now have the opportunity to work in the AX Track academic program, nurturing the well rounded AX athlete!

Coaching History: I was a team mom volunteer while my son ran for AX. I returned as an academic coach in 2018 after missing the team for a year and a half.

LaMar Bruton

“I love coaching because it creates a platform to teach and give back to the athletic community that helped me achieve many goals as an adolescent. Also, I find it very rewarding to watch athletes grow and cultivate lasting relationships while acquiring transferable skills and discipline.”

He has 10+ years experience in track and field, with a specialty in sprints.
Coach Lamar is also an Employment Assistant in the Education & Employment Department at West End Neighborhood House.
His favorite thing to do outside of AX is to sing and be happy.

Octavia Booker (Coach Tay)

“I love the individual bonds that we have with the athletes, as well as the relationships outside of track practice and meets. The athletes feel comfortable coming to the coaches not only for track advice, but also for life advice. I feel like a mom, a mentor, and a friend to the athletes.”

Coach Tay has 10+ years experience with track and her specialties are sprints, hurdles, and jumps.
Coach Tay holds another employment position at ATI Physical Therapy.
Outside of AX, she enjoys hanging out with her co-workers and coaching high school track along with the other sports that she coaches.

Coach Jerome

“I love the close-knit family atmosphere and the fun that we have as a team.”

Coach Jerome has 24 years experience with track from the time he started running as an eighth grader. His specialty is hurdles.
His role besides being a coach is Administrator for AX Open/Masters.
His favorite things to do outside of track include cooking and going out to eat at new places, shopping, hosting BBQs, dancing, and catching the latest horror movies and video games.

Alexus Irons

I love building relationships with the kids and the other coaches. I feel like we are one big family.

Coach Alexus has 9 years of experience in track and field. Her specialties are hurdles and sprints.
Her role besides being a coach is assisting Monique (Mom Mo) in the academic side of things such as tutoring the athletes and helping with homework.
A few of her favorite things to do outside of track are traveling, swimming, and having fun.
