About AX Academics
Above Xpectations Track encourages student athletes to pursue academic achievement throughout their learning years. Tutoring and test prep resources are provided to all athletes. High School athletes must submit report cards quarterly to confirm academic achievement, and follow an Individual Education Plan. Additionally, members must participate in mandatory tutoring if their GPA drops below a 2.5 at any time (but are encouraged to do so even if their grades are good).
Twice per month during the winter months, the AX Track holds ‘college nights’ where coaches from various universities visit the track team at West End Neighborhood House to talk about the college application process. Team members are also provided assistance in completing FAFSA, scholarship and college applications
Since 2014, 36 out of 38 of our graduating seniors have gone to college, most with partial or full scholarships.
